About Us

As a native of El Paso, Texas, I attended several schools in El Paso ISD graduating from Burges High School.  College degrees include a B.S. Education in Secondary Education from Texas Western College (UTEP), and a Master of Business Education from West Texas A&M (Canyon).

My 45-years of working in education began in 1968 as a Business Education teacher, and continued for the next 30 years at Ysleta High School in Ysleta ISD.  Instruction evolved from teaching typing and bookkeeping into computer-assisted instruction involving computerized accounting, microcomputer applications, and computer programming using BASIC, COBOL, and HTML.

During my tenure with Ysleta ISD, I assisted the UTEP College of Education in teaching the educational programming language LOGO to K-5 students within Ysleta ISD.  This 3-year initiative was under the direction of Dr. Brent Wholeben, Professor of Education (UTEP).

After retiring from Texas public schools in 1998, I continued teaching business education subjects at both private and public high schools in Texas and New Mexico.

Helping people become teachers became my next focus in 2000 while working with the Alternative Certification Program in the College of Education (UTEP) as a Secondary Consultant.  Middle and high school classrooms were visited for teacher observations in Gadsden ISD (Anthony, New Mexico) and throughout all 10 school districts in Educational Service Center Region 19 (El Paso, Texas).

Working in Instructional Technology (Technology Services department) for the next 12 years at El Paso ISD, my focus was helping pK-12 teachers integrate technology into their classroom teaching environment.  Much time was devoted to working with teachers during Professional Learning Community (PLC) sessions, classroom visits, and online instructional technology webinars.  On-site PLC training sessions totaled 600 (2001-2013), while online PLC webinars totaled 261 (2010-2013) using Adobe Connect software.  Webinars allowed teachers to attend PLC sessions from school or home.
